About this event

As most cases end with plea agreements or civil settlements, good relationships and trust between opposing counsel can have important consequences for clients and the administration of justice. This talk will explore trust levels among attorneys, both in terms of those within the courtroom work groups and “outsider” attorneys and opinions of disparate treatment in negotiations based on the attorney’s race and gender. Based on legal and psychological research and an original survey of North Carolina attorneys, this CLE program will explore interactions among attorneys and discuss some best practices that may improve our ability to represent our clients and our professionalism.

One hour of NC ethics/professional responsibility Continuing Legal Education Credit (CLE).

The Mediation Center is an approved CLE sponsor under the regulations promulgated by the North Carolina State Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education.
